Whirlwind engineers set out to create a premium quality Direct Box transformer that would rival the performance of DIs costing many times more. The result is the DImax transformer that is now found in the Whirlwind Director +.

The Director Plus direct box converts an unbalanced line, instrument or speaker level signal to low impedance balanced microphone level, which is then suitable for input to a console or microphone preamp. Director Plus DI is a passive device and requires no external power supply. The unit features a ground lift switch and a 30dB pad for selecting between line/instrument or speaker level signals.
